Adios, Industrial Grey Carpet
Big night tonight. We pulled down the last of the trim (wow, the room looks bare), stacked it outside to await the arrival of a dumpster, cleaned up the remnants of plaster (what was behind the trim) and lath, vacuumed, and in the front room we ripped up the carpet and backing, which were glued down. The floor looks to be in pretty good condition, all things considered. There's a patch with masonite in the middle of the double doorway, possibly where a floor furnace once was. And the old hearth tiles were torn up and the unevenness filled with plaster. Unique.
Tomorrow we have to pull up the carpet in the back room, stack the drywall in one room, and finish insulating.
