That Was a Week
I had a week that just wanted to beat me up the whole time, but it is finally over.
I went by the house today to look for pieces of plumbing. I have a really good memory and I know I never received some parts of the shower for the claw foot tub that the supply place says they sent to my office, but they wanted me to go around and see if it was mis-delivered to one of the other businesses around my office. I regularly go by those places and ask after packages so I was pretty sure it wasn't hiding in some corner somewhere waiting for me (for three months), but they insisted. So I did that, and nope, still no sign, so then I went to the house and with the foreman looked through the storage on site and then we walked over every inch of the house from attic to basement, and nope, still nothing. So now I get to have an unpleasant conversation with the supplier.
Anyway, it was raining and the drywallers were all over the place, so I didn't take any photos, but I do have this for you: we made a movie of the siding going on as seen from our neighbors' deck.
I especially like the part where it is raining torrents and they are putting on siding under a giant tarp.
The somewhat drunken swaying is because the camera is mounted to a PVC pipe that swells and shrinks in the sunlight. Or it could be the ghost of Old Alameda.
Seems a fitting end to Surprise Post Week.
